Create: Transparency Cards

Using transparency sheets as the base for a card has become my new favorite thing. I came up with the design when I was making cards at my work for 1st time guests. I was so excited about the design because it was something I came up with all on my own, without seeing someone else do it first. Usually when I design a card it's based off of another that I've seen or a template that I've found online or in the StampinUp! catalog. I am hooked on this new design and my father-in-law, who is a pastor, asked me to make some cards for him to send to parishioners as well. I made him 4 different designs to start out with and here is one of them.

He had me put the verse I Peter 5:7 on the inside, "Give all your worries and cares to God, for he cares about you." Using the scraps from the "thinking of you" cards I designed two "happy birthday" cards today. I stapled the strips on with colored staples and adhered the flower with a brad.

I love that I was able to repurpose those 1/2" scraps to create another card. This is exactly why I have a huge box of hanging folders full of scraps...this is a perfect design to use up those unwanted paper scraps!

This post is part of my series for 2010 where I create something as often as possible (I realized that every day was unattainable for me).
