Fabulous Family Weekend

Hubby was out of town for work for the 4th of July and for 5 nights, so when he got home he took a few days off of work and we had family time. We spent it taking some 10+ mile bike rides, hiking, eating and just being together. It was one of the best times we've had in a long time and was much needed!

We spent some time at Eagle Creek Park - visiting the nature center, taking a 2 mile hike around the bird sanctuary and I hugged a ginormous tree so that Hubby could really call me a "tree hugger". :) The kids did great and our 9 year old dog about died but he's recovered now.

Our reward for a hike well done was a trip to Traders Point Creamery. It's a farm with organic, grass fed cows and the ice cream is amazing. I had the caramel in a waffle cone and it was delicious. It's a must-see if you ever visit Central Indiana. It's a really cool place and they do tours of the farm, a Farmers Market year-round on Fridays from 4-8 and they have a restaurant.

That night Pappy and their Daddy slept with the kids in the tent (well, the kids slept and the guys got kicked all night). The next morning we took an 11 mile bike ride with the in-laws. Last night Hubby surprised me with a dinner date to P.F. Chang. It was an amazing weekend and for that I am grateful!

What was your favorite part of the weekend?
