CVS Coupon Deals

One of my followers asked that I blog about couponing so every once in a while I'll post how I do coupons and some good deals that I find. Today I'm going to discuss the awesome deal I got through 3 transactions at CVS yesterday and today. CVS has a great program called Extra Care Bucks (ECB's). You receive ECB's when you purchase various items each week that offer ECB's with purchase. For example, an item might be $9.99 with an offer to receive $5 ECB's that can be used on your next order. So you pay $9.99 and then you get a coupon for $5 to use the next time you're in the store. There are always multiple items with ECB's each week so you can do multiple transactions to get items free or near free. I'm going to show you how I did it this week.

Transaction 1:
L'Oreal EverPure hair products are on sale for $6.99 each and you get $5 ECB's back when you buy (WYB 2).
Purchase: 2 EverPure @ $6.99 each = $13.98 plus tax.
Use: 2 newspaper coupons for $2 off each and I had $5 in ECB's from a previous transaction.
Paid: $5.89 out of pocket and received $5 back in ECB's.

Transaction 2:
John Frieda hair products are on sale for $5 each and you get $3 ECB's WYB 2.
Purchase: 2 John Frieda products @ $5 each = $10 plus tax
Use: 1 coupon for $3 and 1 coupon for $2 (both newspaper), $5 ECB's from previous transaction
Paid: $0.70 out of pocket and received back $3 in ECB's

Transaction 3:
Gilette Fusion razors are on sale for $9.97 with $5 ECB's back.
Purchase:
  • Gillette Fusion razor @ $9.97
  • 4 Skinny Cow ice cream cups @ $1 each
  • 2 packs of M&M's @ $0.50 each (filler)
  • Orbitz gum @ $1.29 (filler)
Use:
  • CVS coupon that printed with last transaction for $5 off $15 purchase
  • $4 newspaper coupon for razor
  • 4 Skinny Cow coupons for $1 off each
  • $3 ECB's from last transaction
Pay: $0.95 and receive $5 ECB's

Total for the 3 transactions I paid $7.54 and came away with $5 in ECB's to use next time. The price I should have paid for everything (with the sales but if I didn't use any coupons) would have been $40.23. I tried to make this understandable but it still might be confusing so if you have any questions let me know!

What I got:
2 L'Oreal EverPure shampoo/conditioner
2 John Frieda shampoo/conditioner
Gillette Fusion razors
4 Skinny Cow single serve ice cream cups
2 pkg m&ms
Orbitz gum
