What I Wore Wednesday - comfortable cute edition

It's been a while since I've done WIWW because, quite frankly, I've been in comfort mode. My comfy jeans & t's from GAP have been the outfit of choice lately. Today I decided to actually get dressed (in something super comfy, but still cute) and my hair was cooperating so I decided to jump on in for WIWW today to help share some fashion inspiration. I'm so excited that my living room is finally LIGHT enough to take pictures in instead of using the studio with a messy background.

Today I'm dressed in my clearance dress from Old Navy, belt from H&M,
leggings from Francesca's, boots gifted (I think ordered from 6pm.com)
{{I had to get a picture with my new cabinet, I'm in LOVE!!}}

I'm accessorizing with items from the shop: long teardrop necklace and rings

Come on over to The Pleated Poppy to see what everyone else is wearing!

WIWW - Mexico Edition

Since we were in Mexico last week, I wore my bathing suit every day. But I did get showered & dressed at night. Unfortunately in Mexico it's dark at 5pm, so outfit pics had to be taken with a flash (gasp!!). I did get a few that were decent enough...

left two: daily attire (Target bathing suit & Old Navy coverup, GAP fedora)
right two: a few dresses for dinners (Francesca's & Old Navy)

My favorite outfit is the green dress. Hubby got it for me from Old Navy and the belt is from Francesca's. Francesca's is my new favorite store (that's where the white-ish dress with the red sash above is from). Their clothes are super cute and affordable and they have super stylish accessories. My shoes are from Target and the bracelet is from my shop.

Look how tan I was.... *sigh* ...it's fading already. But we had a great time! (read more about it here)

WIWW - Corduroy Edition

Today is MOPS Wednesday! I love my MOPS ladies, we have the best table! Anyway, I'm wearing my fave l/s henley from Target, gray cords from GAP, TOMS shoes, mustard scarf from Charming Charlie & jewelry from my shop. I love the stripes w/ a pop of yellow, I wear this combo all the time (you're probably getting sick of seeing it!).

WIWW - comfort edition

Wednesdays come so fast here...I was in the shower this morning and thought "is it Wednesday?? Gotta get WIWW up!" I can't believe it's the middle of the week already.

This week (as are most weeks) were all about comfort...jeans or leggings and comfy tops.

My nails were dressed in a new (to me) gunmetal gray with sparkles. LOVE IT for Fall! The purple dress/legging outfit on the right was super comfortable (which is why I wore it) and people kept asking me where I had been since I was dressed up. Little do they know it was a chubby day when my jeans didn't fit right and I had to pull out the stretchy clothes! I love the fact that it's almost time to start wearing sweaters, scarves & hats every day - I LOVE FALL!

WIWW - Monday edition

I spent the long weekend at a crafting retreat so I didn't dress up much there (more on that later this week). I basically wore jeans or shorts & a tshirt (and my TOMS from my bestie).

My favorite outfit of the last week was my outfit on Monday.  I got this super-cute striped shirt for $12 at Target, the scarf was gifted and is from Charming Charlie, I wore the feather earrings from this tutorial, ring from this tutorial and jeans are hand-me-downs. I felt cute all day long in this outfit, although it did get a little warm in the afternoon sun. I can't wait for Fall to officially be here (temperatures, I mean)!!

WIWW- June Cleaver edition

This week for What I Wore Wednesday I'm in my Sunday outfit...Dave said it's a little "elegant" meaning June Cleaver (a.k.a. not sexy - matronly maybe??). But he said I looked pretty so that's what matters, right? Bless his heart, he's a good man.
{{and I was having an outstanding hair day, if I do say so myself}}

cardi: GAP || tank: NY&Co || skirt: made by ME! || shoes: Target
(cardi: free || skirt: free || shoes $3!!)

bloom ring || 4 hammered stack bands (not in shop)

Thanks to Lindsey at the Pleated Poppy for keeping us accountable with getting out of our jammies!

WIWW - open house edition

Monday night I hosted a Christmas in July open house with two other crafty ladies. I had a great time and met a lot of sweet ladies who came out to shop. I think dressing for an event like this is always hard because you want to look hip and fun because you're selling your brand. The three of us didn't talk about what we were going to wear so I also didn't know how casual the other ladies would be. I decided to meet in the middle and wear this (I'm on left):

dress/shirt - H&M
skinnies - Target
belt - H&M
jewelry - Amy Cornwell
(I wore a TON of my pieces layered together)
shoes - none (hence the cut-off feet)

Want to check out these other ladies? The one in the middle is Jessica, owner of Cards by Jessica. Eva is on the right and her business is Snappee Turtle. More pics from the open house to come!

WIWW - workout edition

I'm calling this the workout edition of What I Wore Wednesday because it's the first time I'm posting a picture of my workout outfit. One, because Hubby got me a cute new one and two, for accountability sake (more on that tomorrow). But I have a few other outfits to share from this week...WIWW is really hard for me because we spend most mornings at the pool and then the afternoons are work time for me so it's pretty comfy around here. But WIWW helps me to make more of an effort on most days. Anyway, here are the outfits for the start of this week!

running outfit: J.C. Penney | shoes: New Balance

pocket T & skirt: GAP | shoes: Target

tshirt: GAP | skirt: made by me, Simplicity 2224

tank & shirt: Old Navy | headband: Craftee McGee

closeup of my ring: bloom ring & 4 twist bands - my almost-everyday ring
Sorry for the horribly blurry pictures, I really need to get myself a remote for my camera. I'm linking up with the fabulous Lindsey from The Pleated Poppy - our inspiration to get out of our jammies :)

WIWW - a new hairdo!

For the 4th of July I decided to stay casual and wore two layered tanks (Old Navy & GAP) and a felt pin that my bff Chrissy made me. I wore it with jean shorts from Old Navy.

I started the day with this hair and ended it with...

My new short bob from the wonderful Emilee at D.L. Lowry. I always love when I have my hair this length. I think it looks the best on me since I have a longer face. Emilee also highlighted it and she is so AMAZING with color. I love the hi and lo lights.

One of the best things about this cut? I can still wear my GAP fedora
and it looks cute! Yay for that because I wear this hat a lot.

I can also wear my Whippy Cake!

I'm loving the new 'do. If you're from the States, what was your
favorite part of the Independence Day weekend?

WIWW - In the Garden

This is pretty much my attire for the summer...

Well, this and my bathing suit, but you won't see many pictures of that here on the blog!

Hat: Gap | T-shirt: Gap | Shorts: G.H.Bass from like 10 years ago

Jewelry: Amy Cornwell (love much heirloom & briolette)

Thankfully my garden is dressed beautifully today!

If there's sunshine where you are - enjoy!

WIWW - Cruise Style

I spent the long weekend on a cruise with my best bud so I decided to do a What I Wore Wednesday, Cruise Edition!

For the airport I wore a black maxi dress from Old Navy, jean jacket from NY&Co, hat from Express, Bloom Ring and awesome cowl from Olive Blue. Comfort was the name of the game on Thursday!

We had one formal night and although I didn't have a formal dress, I did have a little black and white number that I wore for the first time. It was a hand-me-down and the label says derek heart. I had on my newest Layers of My Heart necklace.

Most of the time I was wearing this. This cute stripe and ruffle suit is from Lime Ricki.

One of the days we went to an adventure park so I wore a casual tank and jean shorts from Old Navy.

My bud let me borrow her strapless bandeau top from Old Navy and I paired it with my Lime Ricki bottoms. We loved the relaxation in the sun!
