Guest Blogger - Jana Kitts from Giggles, Glitz & Glam!

Today I have a WONDERFUL guest blogger. Her name is Jana and she has a really cool website and I'll let her tell you all about it...here's Jana!

Tell us a little about yourself.
My name is Jana Kitts, the face behind the website Giggles, Glitz & Glam. I'm 27-years-old and just celebrated my one year anniversary with my husband, Cody. Which may or may not be why the only good recent photo I have is a bridal portrait. We have two pooches, Abby, a white boxer and Mike, a black lab/border collie mix. Some days I wonder why we even have dogs and others I wish we had one more.

Tell me about Giggles, Glitz & Glam
Giggles, Glitz & Glam is my means to share about what I love to make, or try to make, as well as a place for me to discover other crafters. I have bigger dreams for it in the future, but really don't know where I will end up going with it.

When did you get the great idea to create Giggles, Glitz & Glam?
My blogging adventures started as To Dabble In Design after I gave a try at a few random crafty ideas. I started making pillowcase dresses for orphans in Uganda and as I looked for tutorials I kept running into craft blogs. I fell in love so I started my own. It wasn't until I started making tutus that it became Giggles, Glitz & Glam. I decided to start making tutus to make extra money so that one day when I'm a stay-at-home mom I could bring in extra income for our family. I needed a good business name and this was no easy task. After much thinking I came up with Giggles, Glitz & Glam!

What are your hopes for Giggles, Glitz & Glam in the future?
Hopefully in the next year, I will increase my etsy inventory with more tutus as well as other things I create. I have no idea what that will be just yet, but I am excited to find out. I just got a sewing machine for Christmas so I am always thinking about what new thing I can make next. I would love if it turned into something that would make our family extra money when I am a stay-at-home mom. Not to mention I'm hitting up craft shows starting in the fall!

What kinds of items get the greatest response from your customers?
My holiday tutus were a hit, I especially love the Candy Cane tutu below. Another popular one has been the collegiate tutus.

Do you make customs tutus?
I do! Infact, I just made a friend the cutest ladybug tutu with matching wings. I am pretty happy with the way it turned out.

What’s your fondest crafty memory?
I really love pillowcase parties! We host them once a month at our office and these are by far one of my favorite things to do. A group of girls get together and we sew as many dresses as possible for little girls in Kampala, Uganda. All the material has been donated and I love putting together different dresses with all the materials. I love seeing how many I can create in one night. I will never forget the first night we only ended up making like one a person and now we average 6-8 a person. We've come a long way and it's for such a great cause too!

What’s the last crafty project you did?
I made some baby legs for the cousins triplets and I still have tutus to make for the identical twin girls before her baby shower on the 22nd. I am going to have a sewing day with my good friend on Saturday and will probably learn how to do applique on onesies which is something I've really wanted to do. I tried the tie onesie and failed miserably!

Any crafts that have caught your eye lately?
I love all the upcycling! I am astonished by the projects I see where someone goes to a thrift store, comes home with something hideous and makes it fabulous! Plus I have some furniture that could use a face lift.

Tell us where we can find you.
